The Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant is a key power-source project of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), with a total investment of VND 42,022 billion, comprising two units with a combined capacity of 1,403 MW — currently the largest coal-fired thermal power plant in Vietnam. VIETNAM GLOBAL TRANSPORT CORPORATION (VGT) carried out the transportation of oversized and overweight equipment serving the plant’s construction, from the receiving port to the site at Quang Trach.

Execution

Before transportation, VGT surveyed the route from the port to the site — checking the load-bearing capacity of roads and bridges, curve positions and site gates — then selected suitable vehicles for each cargo unit and completed the oversized/overweight vehicle circulation permits.

The equipment was received at the port, lashed and inspected before departure. The convoy traveled with escort vehicles; upon arrival at the site, the cargo was offloaded by specialized lifting equipment and handed over to the contractor in line with the construction schedule.

Proven capabilities

All equipment was delivered safely, closely following the project’s construction schedule. For a national key power project such as Quang Trach I, this result further affirms the project transportation capabilities of Vietnam Global Transport Corporation.
