With a total investment of approximately <strong>USD 1.34 \u2013 1.35 billion<\/strong>, the project plays an important role in Cambodia\u2019s energy transition, power system stability, and socio-economic development.<\/p>\n<h2>13 Equipment Packages for the LNG Project<\/h2>\n<p>Within the project scope, VGT is responsible for receiving and transporting <strong>13 equipment packages<\/strong> from Sihanoukville Port to the LNG project working area in Koh Kong.<\/p>\n<p>The cargo includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>02 transformers weighing 305 tons each.<\/li>\n<li>01 transformer weighing 77 tons.<\/li>\n<li>09 modules.<\/li>\n<li>01 lifting beam weighing 53 tons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Among them, the 02 transformers weighing 305 tons each are the heaviest cargo items, requiring a specialized transportation plan, close coordination, and careful preparation in terms of equipment, site conditions, load control, and safety throughout the entire operation.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the heavy weight, special dimensions, and high technical requirements of the cargo, the project demands strict logistics planning, particularly in port receiving, barge loading, waterway transportation, load-in at the jetty, and internal transportation to the site.<\/p>\n<h2>Combined Waterway Transportation and Site Load-in Solution<\/h2>\n<p>To meet the specific requirements of the heavy equipment cargo for the LNG Power Plant and Terminal Project in Koh Kong, VGT has developed a transportation solution that combines waterway transportation with internal site transportation.<\/p>\n<p>From Sihanoukville Port, the cargo is received by VGT, loaded onto <strong>02 barges<\/strong>, and transported to the <strong>jetty<\/strong> located within the LNG project working area. This is a critical stage that requires strict control of cargo weight, cargo positioning on the barges, securing arrangements, and close coordination among the port, marine transport units, operation teams, and relevant parties at the site.<\/p>\n<p>After the cargo arrives at the jetty, VGT continues with the <strong>load-in and lowering operations at the site<\/strong>. Depending on the weight, dimensions, and characteristics of each cargo item, suitable transportation equipment is selected to ensure safety, stability, and operational efficiency within the project area.<\/p>\n<p>For the <strong>02 transformers weighing 305 tons each<\/strong>, VGT uses <strong>Nicolas modular trailers<\/strong> for transportation into the site. The remaining cargo, including the 77-ton transformer, 09 modules, and 53-ton lifting beam, is loaded in using <strong>Goldhofer modular trailers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The selection of suitable equipment for each cargo group helps optimize the transportation plan, ensure load-bearing capacity, enhance operational flexibility, and meet the actual site conditions at the jetty and within the construction area.<\/p>\n<h2>Safety Control and Site Coordination<\/h2>\n<p>For heavy cargo projects, especially cargo items such as 305-ton transformers, safety is always a top priority throughout the entire operation.<\/p>\n<p>Each stage requires careful preparation, from cargo data review, assessment of receiving conditions at the port, cargo positioning on barges, cargo securing, transportation to the jetty, to load-in and lowering at the designated location.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to specialized equipment, site coordination plays a crucial role in ensuring that all operations are carried out in a synchronized manner, minimizing risks and meeting the project schedule.
